Legal Experience
In addition to his private legal practice, John Scanlan has clerked for the 18th Judicial District, volunteered his services to the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in Bosnia-Hercegovina, provided technical services to the Colorado Bar Association and researched and written bar review materials for Kaplan PMBR.
Other Professional Experience
Prior to entering the practice of law in 2002, Scanlan worked for 15 years as a licensed Professional Engineer in Colorado, Illinois and Indiana, managing multi-million dollar projects and using technology to increase productivity and cut costs. This experience provides a strong knowledge base for Scanlan's construction litigation practice.
Volunteer and Other Activities
John has served as President of the Colorado Gymnastics Judges Association (CGJA) since 2005, wrote the bylaws fo the CGJA, worked with USA Gymnastics in developing criteria for the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games, served as Director of gymnastics officials for the states of Indiana and Kentucky (1992-1995), officiated dozens of national and international competitions over the past 25 years, volunteered his services to the Special Olympics and conducted instructional courses for gymnastics judges and others involved in the sport.
